Hi there! I’m Arya, and I’m the person behind Arya Kitchen. Basically, this blog is my excuse to spend even more time in the kitchen – and, let’s be honest, thinking about food! I’ve always been a bit of a cooking nerd, the kind of person who doesn’t just want to follow a recipe, but wants to really understand what’s going on. Like, what’s the actual magic behind making a perfect soufflé rise? Why does this ingredient make such a difference?
My cooking style?
My cooking style? It’s a bit of a global mix, really. I’m drawn to flavors from all over the world, but I have a real passion for Asian cuisine – the spices, the techniques, the sheer variety… it’s endlessly fascinating. But whether I’m making something from halfway across the world or a simple weeknight dinner for my husband and son, it’s always about keeping things relatively healthy and, most importantly, doable. I’m not a fan of complicated recipes with a mile-long ingredient list!
I started Arya Kitchen because, well, I was already spending so much time experimenting and researching in the kitchen. My head was (and still is!) buzzing with recipe ideas and cooking tips. It felt like the right time to start writing it all down and sharing it with others who might be as curious about food as I am.
One thing you’ll definitely notice is that I like to get into the science of baking. I’m working on a whole series called “Baking Science” where I’m basically sharing my ongoing education in all things baking. If you’ve ever wondered why your cookies spread too much or your bread didn’t rise, you might find some answers there!
The recipes you’ll find here are designed to be clear and informative. I include step-by-step photos because I’m a visual learner myself, and I think it helps to see exactly what’s happening at each stage. I try to strike a balance between being precise (because baking is a science!) and giving you room to tweak things to your own liking.
You’ll find all sorts of recipes here, from salads and soups to main courses, pasta dishes, and (of course!) plenty of desserts. I’ve organized them into categories to make it easy to find what you’re looking for.
My main goal is to share what I’ve learned and hopefully inspire you to get into the kitchen and create something delicious. And, yes, I’m also hoping to support this blog through advertising, so I can keep experimenting and sharing new recipes with you.
